Party game wheel
Twenty-six party games that need nothing but people, paper and maybe a deck of cards. They suit ages 8 to adult; for little ones, try the [kids’ party games wheel](/wheels/kids-party-games-wheel/).

How to use it at a party
- Before guests arrive, delete the games you cannot play in your space: sardines needs a house to hide in, limbo needs a broom and floor room.
- Spin when energy drops or a game has run its course, usually every 15–20 minutes.
- Use Remove on the winner card so the same game cannot come up twice in one evening.
Quick rules for the less familiar ones
- Sardines: hide and seek in reverse. One person hides; whoever finds them squeezes into the hiding spot too, until one seeker is left.
- Fishbowl: everyone writes five names or things on slips. Round one, describe them; round two, act them out; round three, one word only. Same slips all three rounds.
- Categories: pick a letter and a topic (animals, foods, countries). Go around the circle; whoever repeats an answer or freezes is out.
- Human knot: six to ten players grab two different hands across a circle, then untangle without letting go.
- Spoons: put one fewer spoon than players in the middle. Pass cards to collect four of a kind, then quietly grab a spoon; everyone else grabs too.
- Who am I?: a famous name goes on each player’s back on a sticky note. Ask yes or no questions until you guess it.
Plan the night
Mix the energy levels: a moving game, a sitting game, then a moving game again. If the wheel lands on two talking games in a row, spin again, or you will lose the room.
If you host often, save your edited list in My wheels with a name like “Cousins’ parties”, and it is one click away next time.
Questions and answers
What are the best party games for a group of teens?
Fishbowl, two truths and a lie, sardines and spoons are reliable: no setup, everyone plays, and they reward being quick rather than being loud. Keep the list to those and spin for the order.
How many people do these games need?
Most work from 5 to 15 players. Spoons and the human knot are best with 6–10. For groups over 15, split into two teams first; the team generator does that in a click.
Can I use this for an online party?
Several games work on video: twenty questions, categories, two truths and a lie, trivia, hum that tune and story chain. Delete the rest, then send the list with Share link so whoever hosts can spin.
