Set up before the party
Fill a challenge box: 20 plastic cups, 5 balloons, a pair of mittens, wrapped candies, straws, dry spaghetti and ring cereal, a ping pong ball, a roll of toilet paper, a deck of cards, scrap paper and a bucket. That covers almost every slice.
Delete any challenge you do not have supplies for, so the wheel never lands on something you cannot play.
Team tournament rules
- Split the group into teams of 3–5.
- Teams take turns spinning. The team picks one player for that challenge, and nobody goes twice until everyone on the team has played.
- Complete it in the time on the slice, or 60 seconds if it does not say: 2 points. A near miss the room agrees on: 1 point.
- After 10 spins, the team with the most points chooses the music, the first cake slice or the next game.
Notes on a few challenges
- Cookie face: put a cookie on your forehead and move it to your mouth using only your face. Use a soft cookie for little kids.
- Mummy wrap: the team wraps one volunteer in toilet paper in 60 seconds. Leave the face clear.
- Move 5 candies with a straw: suck through the straw to lift wrapped candies from one plate to another.
- Pass a balloon, no hands: the team passes a balloon down the line using elbows and knees. Drop it and start again.
Questions and answers
What age are these party challenges for?
Ages 6 and up can do most of them. For 4 and 5 year olds, keep the balloon, bucket toss, cookie face and cup stacking, and drop the timers.
Are balloon challenges safe for little kids?
Use balloons with children over 3 only, and pick up popped pieces straight away, because they are a choking hazard for small children. Keep an adult beside the balloon games.
How is this different from the one minute challenge wheel?
These are team stunts with props, built for a party table. The one minute challenge wheel has solo, timed tasks you can score and try to beat, good for home, class or a contest.
