Two-wheel workouts
- Open the workout wheel or one of the body-part wheels in another tab, and delete the numbers from its entries so they read “Squats”, “Push-ups” and so on.
- Spin the exercise, then spin this wheel for how many. If it lands on seconds, keep moving for that long.
- Rest 30–60 seconds and go again. Ten rounds plus a warm-up and cool-down make a 20–25 minute session.
Use common sense with the number
The same number means very different things for different moves: 25 jumping jacks is a warm-up, 25 burpees is a hard set. Before you start, set a ceiling for tough moves like push-ups, burpees and jump squats, and treat anything above your usual as “as many as I can with good form”.
Holds work the same way. A 60-second plank is a lot for a beginner; do what you can and finish the time on your knees. The wheel only picks numbers, it doesn’t know your body, so stop if something hurts beyond normal effort.
Other ways to use it
- Paper list: write 4–6 exercises on a sheet. Work down it in order, spinning a new number each time.
- Family challenge: everyone does the same exercise, and kids do half the number.
- Team training: a coach spins the reps for a drill, so nobody can claim the number was picked as a punishment.
- Gym version: for work with weights, cut the entries down to 6, 8, 10 and 12 reps.
Questions and answers
Why do some numbers come up more often?
10, 12 and 15 reps and 30 seconds have a weight of 2. They are middle-of-the-road numbers that suit most bodyweight moves, so the wheel favors them over 5 or 25.
Can I change the range?
Yes. Add or delete counts in the entry box, one per line, such as “3 reps” for pull-ups or “40 reps” for jumping jacks. For any number in a range, the random number generator works too.
Is this good for beginners?
Yes, if you cap the numbers. Remove 20 and 25 reps and the 45 and 60 second holds for the first few weeks.
