As a d20 for tabletop games
Forgot your dice, or want everyone at the table to see the roll? Put the wheel in Full screen (press F) on a shared screen and spin for attack rolls, saving throws and skill checks. The odds match a real d20: a natural 20 or a natural 1 each turns up one time in twenty.
Add your modifier in your head after the spin. If you need advantage, spin twice and keep the higher result; for disadvantage, keep the lower.
Math games within 20
- Teen numbers (K–1): spin, then show the number as one ten and some ones with base-ten blocks or fingers plus a bundle of ten straws.
- Make 20: spin and name the partner number. A 13 needs a 7.
- Double or half: spin; double it if it is under 11, halve it if it is even and over 10. Odd numbers over 10 get a “spin again”.
- Number line hop: spin a start number, spin again, and hop forward or back on a classroom number line to the second number. Count the hops.
Pick from a numbered list
Twenty is a common size for a small class, a page of practice questions or a raffle among friends. Give each person or item a number, spin, and turn on Remove the winner after each spin so nothing is picked twice. For names instead of numbers, the random name picker saves you the numbering step.
Questions and answers
Is this the same as rolling a 20-sided die?
For the result, yes: twenty outcomes, each with a 5% chance. The only difference is that everyone can watch the wheel slow down, which is half the fun on a stream or a classroom screen.
Can I roll several dice at once?
The wheel gives one number per spin. For 2d6, 3d8 or a handful of d20s at once, the dice roller is faster.
How do I change the range to 1–12 or 1–30?
Edit the entry box: delete the numbers you do not want, or add new ones one per line. Your version is kept on this device, and Reset brings back 1 to 20.
