Number wheel 1 to 50

Every whole number from 1 to 50 on one wheel. It suits groups and lists that are too big for a die but still small enough to read each slice.

Number of the day (grades 1–2)

    1. Spin once at the start of math. Write the number big on the board.
    2. Students answer four quick prompts on a whiteboard: how many tens and ones, the number before and after, odd or even, and 10 more and 10 less.
    3. Pick one student to show the number with base-ten blocks while the class checks.
    4. Remove the number from the wheel with the winner card so the class sees a new one each day for ten weeks.

    Small raffles and ticket draws

Hand out numbered tickets 1 to 50, or let people write their name next to a number on a sheet. Spin with the wheel in Full screen so the whole room watches, and use Remove after each prize so a number cannot win twice. If only 37 tickets were sold, delete 38 to 50 first: a number nobody holds should never be able to win.

This is fine for a school fair or a club night. It is not a certified draw for a regulated lottery.

    Practice and review

    • Worksheet roulette: number the questions on a long review sheet, spin five, and those are the ones everyone does first.
    • Bingo-style call: students write any five numbers from 1 to 50; you spin until someone has all five crossed off.
    • Fitness break: spin for the number of seconds to hold a wall sit or a plank (under 50 is a sensible ceiling for kids).

    Questions and answers

Are all 50 numbers equally likely?

Yes, each has a 2% chance per spin. With Remove the winner after each spin turned on, the odds of the numbers left go up evenly as the wheel empties.

Can I see the numbers that already came up?

Open the Results tab. It lists every winner in order with the time of the spin, which is handy for checking a raffle afterwards.

What if I need a range like 1 to 500?

A wheel gets crowded past 100 slices. For large ranges, or for several numbers at once, use the random number generator.
