Run the draw in the open

Clear the example names and paste your entrants, one per line. A column copied from a spreadsheet pastes straight in. For numbered tickets, paste the numbers instead (“Ticket 041”).
If someone holds several tickets, give them one line with a weight: “Diego *5” is five tickets and five times the chance.
Before the draw, click Share link and post the link where entrants can see it. Anyone can open it and check their name is on the list with the right number of tickets.
Announce the prize order. Many raffles draw the smaller prizes first and the main prize last, which keeps people around.
In Options, turn on “Remove the winner after each spin” so nobody wins twice. Then spin in full screen (press F) on the room screen, a video call or a stream.
When you finish, open the Results tab. It lists each winner with the time of the draw; take a screenshot for your records.

If a winner isn’t there

Set the rule before the draw and say it out loud. A common one: winners who aren’t present have 7 days to claim, after which the prize is drawn again. For a redraw, spin again with the original winner already off the wheel, and note the redraw in your records.

Raffles and the law

In many countries and US states, a raffle where people pay for tickets is legally a lottery. Charity and school raffles are often allowed, but some need a license, a cap on prize value or a supervised draw. Check your local rules before you sell a single ticket.

KeenWheel picks fairly, using your browser’s cryptographic random generator, but it is not a certified drawing system. If your raffle is regulated, or a license requires an independent or supervised draw, use the method those rules ask for.

Questions and answers

How do I draw several winners?

Turn on “Remove the winner after each spin”, then spin once per prize. Each winner leaves the wheel, so the next spin is among the people still in. The Results tab keeps the order.

Can I use ticket numbers instead of names?

Yes, one number per line. For hundreds of tickets numbered in sequence, the random number generator can draw from a range like 1–500, which is quicker than typing every number.

Will people trust a draw on a screen?

They have more reason to than with a hand in a hat. Share the full entry list before the draw, spin live where everyone can watch, and keep the Results record. For a regulated lottery that still isn’t enough on its own, as explained above.
