Number wheel 1 to 100

One hundred thin slices, numbered 1 to 100, each with a 1% chance. Full screen helps here: the more room the wheel has, the easier the labels are to read.

One entry per line. Add *3 after a name to give it three times the chance.

    Higher or lower

    1. The host spins with the wheel hidden (or looks away from the screen while a helper spins) and writes the number down.
    2. Players guess in turn. The host says “higher”, “lower” or “got it”.
    3. Count the guesses. Anyone who halves the range every time (50, then 25 or 75, and so on) will always find it in seven guesses or fewer, because 2 multiplied by itself seven times is 128.

For kids, give a point for every guess under seven. It quietly teaches the idea behind binary search.

    Hundred chart activities

    • Find it fast: spin, and the first student to point to the number on the class hundred chart reads out the number above and below it (10 less, 10 more).
    • Round it: spin and round to the nearest ten. 45 is the one that starts arguments, so agree on “5 rounds up” first.
    • Skip-count check: spin, then decide if the number is in the 2s, 5s or 10s count, or none of them.
    • 100th day of school: spin a number and do that many seconds of a silly challenge, or count that many objects into a jar.

    Big lists and raffles

If your list has 100 items (questions, songs, tickets), number them and spin. With Remove the winner after each spin on, every pick is unique. Sold fewer than 100 tickets? Delete the unsold numbers before the draw so every spin lands on a real ticket. For anything larger than 100, use the random number generator.

    Questions and answers

Why are the labels so small?

A wheel with 100 slices has to be thin. Press F for Full screen, or use the winner card, which shows the result in large type after every spin.

Can I pick several numbers between 1 and 100 at once?

The wheel picks one per spin. To get, say, ten unique numbers in one go, use the random number generator; on the wheel, turn on remove and spin ten times.

    Is 1 to 100 really 100 numbers?

Yes. Both ends count, so the wheel has exactly 100 entries and each number has a 1 in 100 chance.
