Giveaway winner wheel
A giveaway template for creators, small shops and community pages. Replace the example entrants with your own and pick the winner live, so your audience sees exactly how it happened.

Before you announce the giveaway
- Write the rules where people enter: who can enter (age, country), how to enter, the closing date and time with time zone, how the winner is picked, how they will be contacted and how long they have to reply.
- Keep entry free and simple: in many places, asking people to pay or buy something to enter turns a giveaway into a lottery, which is regulated. Social platforms also have their own rules for promotions, so read them before you launch.
- Ask for as little as possible: a username or first name is enough to enter. Collect a postal address only from the winner.
Picking the winner
- When entries close, gather the names or usernames, remove duplicates, and take out anyone who broke the rules you posted.
- Paste them in, one per line. If your rules give bonus entries (say, one for a comment and one for a share), write “Bruno *2” rather than repeating the name.
- Post the Share link so entrants can check they are on the list before the draw.
- Spin live on your stream, or record your screen, in full screen (press F). Use Remove on the winner card if you are drawing more than one prize.
- Message the winner privately. Never ask a winner to pay shipping or a fee to claim, and tell your audience you never will: that is exactly how fake giveaway accounts operate.
If the winner doesn’t reply
Wait for the deadline you posted, often 48 hours to 7 days. If it passes, spin again with the first winner off the wheel, and say publicly that you redrew. Being open about a redraw builds more trust than quietly picking someone else.
Questions and answers
Is a spin the wheel giveaway fair?
The pick itself is: each line has the same chance unless you set weights, and the choice comes from your browser’s cryptographic random generator. The rest of the fairness is up to you, so publish the rules, show the list, and spin where people can watch.
Do I need permission to run a giveaway?
A free-to-enter giveaway often needs none, but rules differ by country and state, and larger prize promotions can have extra requirements such as official rules or registration. A regulated sweepstakes may need a certified or independently supervised draw, which this wheel is not. If the prize is valuable, check the rules where you and your entrants live.
Can I pick a winner from comments?
Yes, but you copy them in yourself, because the wheel doesn’t connect to any social platform. Copy the usernames into a list, tidy out duplicates, then paste. For very long comment threads, number the entries in a spreadsheet and draw a number with the random number generator.
