How the answers are balanced
The twelve slices are spread evenly from yes to no: four lean yes (Definitely, Yes, Probably, Leaning yes), four sit in the middle (Maybe, Maybe later, Ask again later, Only if it’s fun), and four lean no (Leaning no, Probably not, Unlikely, Not this time). Each has the same chance, so a third of spins land on a yes side, a third in the middle and a third on a no side.
If you want a sharper answer, use the yes or no wheel instead. This wheel is for questions where a flat yes or no would feel wrong.
Good questions for the maybe wheel
- Small plans: Should I go to the party? Should we go for a walk before dinner?
- Gentle check-ins: Will tomorrow be a good day? Am I ready to start that project?
- Game nights: each player asks a silly question (“Will the cat ever like me?”) and the group reads the answer in a dramatic voice.
- Classroom prediction: before an experiment, students spin to “predict” the result, then compare with what really happened.
Make it yours
Change the mix to suit the mood. For a cheerful version with kids, delete the no side and add “Absolutely”, “You bet” and “Ask a grown-up”. To nudge yourself toward action, weight the yes side: “Probably *2”. Save your version in My wheels.
Questions and answers
What is the difference between this and the yes or no wheel?
The yes or no wheel gives a straight answer. The maybe wheel gives shades in between, which suits questions about mood, timing and how much you want something.
Is it a fortune teller?
No. It is a random spin, the same as a coin. People use it for fun or to check how they feel about an answer, not to predict the future.
What does “Ask again later” mean?
Treat it as a pause. Come back in an hour or tomorrow and spin again. Often by then you have made up your mind without the wheel.
