Heads or tails wheel
Two slices, Heads and Tails, 50/50. Call it before the spin, out loud, so nobody can claim they said the other one.

How to call a toss properly
- Decide who calls. Usually it is the visitor, the younger player, or whoever lost the last toss.
- Agree what winning means: kick off, go first, choose the side, take the last slice of cake.
- The caller says “heads” or “tails” before anyone presses Spin.
- Spin once. The result is final, unless you agreed on best of three.
Best of three and other formats
- Best of three: first to two wins. It feels fairer for bigger decisions, and it takes about 15 seconds on the wheel.
- Knockout: for a group of four or more, pair people off, toss for each pair, and the winners toss again until one is left.
- Odd one out: three people each spin once. If two get the same side and one gets the other, the odd one out is picked. If all three match, everyone spins again.
Each spin is independent: the wheel has no memory, so five heads in a row does not make tails “due”. Short streaks are normal; in ten tosses, a run of at least three of the same side is more likely than not.
When the wheel beats a real coin
On a projector or a video call, everyone sees the same result at once. Nothing rolls under the sofa, and nobody argues about a coin caught at an angle. In a classroom, put it on full screen (F) and let a student press Space to spin.
Prefer a coin? The coin flip tool shows an actual coin turning over and keeps count of heads and tails.
Questions and answers
Is a spinner as fair as a coin?
Yes. Each side has exactly a 50% chance, picked by your browser’s cryptographic random generator. A real coin can be very slightly biased by how it is tossed and caught; the wheel has no such quirks.
Can I rename the sides?
Yes. Replace “Heads” and “Tails” with the two choices, such as “Kick off” and “Choose ends”, or two names. With only two entries it works the same way.
Can I see past results?
The Results tab lists every spin with the time, so you can check a best of five or see how a streak went.
