    Capitals answer key

Spin, then ask for the capital. Every answer is here, provinces first, then territories.

Students often guess Vancouver for British Columbia and Calgary for Alberta, so those two are worth a second spin.

    More ways to play

    • Province or territory: spin and say which it is. The three territories are in the north and are governed under powers from the federal government, while provinces hold their own powers under the Constitution.
    • Biggest and smallest: Nunavut is the largest of all thirteen and the newest (created in 1999); Quebec is the largest province; Prince Edward Island is the smallest; Ontario has the most people.
    • Neighbors: name what borders the result, including US states. Manitoba, for instance, touches Ontario, Saskatchewan, Nunavut, Hudson Bay, and Minnesota and North Dakota to the south.
    • Trip planner: spin twice and plan how you would travel from one to the other.

    Questions and answers

What is the difference between a province and a territory?

Provinces get their powers directly from the Constitution. Territories get theirs from the federal Parliament, which created them. In practice all three territories have their own elected governments today, but they are still territories.

Can I add French names for a bilingual class?

Yes. Edit each slice, for example “Québec” or “Colombie-Britannique”, or write both: “BC / Colombie-Britannique” fits on a slice. Save the bilingual version under My wheels.

Is there a wheel of US states too?

Yes, the US state wheel has all 50. Spin both for a North America round, or add Canada’s thirteen to that list.
