Handing out state reports in class

    1. Open the wheel on the projector and press F for full screen.
    2. Tick Remove the winner after each spin in Options so no two students get the same state.
    3. Call each student up to spin, or spin for them while they watch. Write the result next to their name, or check the Results tab at the end, which lists every state with the time it came up.
    4. If a student lands on a state they have lived in, let them keep it or spin again: decide the rule before the first spin, not after.

A class of 25 uses half the list, so the next class can start fresh with Reset, or carry on with the 25 states that are left.

    Quiz and game ideas

    • Capitals: spin and name the capital. Tricky ones come up often: Albany (New York), Harrisburg (Pennsylvania), Tallahassee (Florida), Sacramento (California).
    • Neighbors: name every state that borders the result. Alaska and Hawaii border no other state, so they score a free point.
    • Order of statehood: spin two and guess which joined first. Delaware was the first state (1787); Hawaii was the last (1959), a few months after Alaska.
    • Road trip bingo: spin five states and see whose license plates you can spot on the next long drive.

    Questions and answers

Is Washington, D.C. on the wheel?

No. The District of Columbia is the federal capital, not a state, so the 50 states are listed on their own. Add “Washington, D.C.” or territories such as Puerto Rico and Guam if your lesson includes them.

Which is the biggest and smallest state?

Alaska is the largest by area and Rhode Island the smallest. By population, California has the most people and Wyoming the fewest.

Can I limit it to one region?

Yes. Delete the states you do not need, or save regional versions (New England, the Midwest, the West Coast) under My wheels. For national parks in each state, try the US national park wheel.
