Build a tag in a few spins

    1. Turn on Remove the winner after each spin in Options, so a word cannot come up twice.
    2. Spin twice. Try both orders: “FrostWaffle” and “WaffleFrost” sound like different people.
    3. Optional: spin a third time, or add a short number from the random number generator.
    4. Say it out loud. If it is hard to say, teammates will not say it either.
    5. Press Reset to bring all forty words back before the next attempt.

    Patterns that work

    • Adjective + noun: Cosmic + Panda = CosmicPanda.
    • Title + word: Captain + Noodle = CaptainNoodle.
    • Two nouns: Comet + Fox = CometFox.
    • Blend: take the start of one word and the end of another: Vortex + Raptor = Vortor.
    • Separators: many platforms allow underscores or capitals to split words (Frost_Byte), which helps when the plain version is taken.

    Keep your tag safe

A gamer tag is public. Leave out your real name, your age or birth year, your school, your town and anything a stranger could use to find you. That matters most for kids, and parents may want to check a child’s tag before it goes live.

Check availability on each platform you use before you get attached. Rules on length and allowed characters differ between platforms, so keep a second choice ready.

    Questions and answers

How do I find a username that is not taken?

Spin until you have three tags you like, then try each on the platform. If all are taken, add a separator or swap one word. Short numbers help too, but avoid your birth year.

Can I add my own words?

Yes. Add words you like (a favorite animal, color or food) one per line in the box beside the wheel. Words of one or two syllables combine best.

Is this wheel good for kids picking a first username?

Yes. Every word here is clean, and the tags it builds reveal nothing personal. Sit with them for the first spins and talk about why a username should never include their real name.
