How to use it
- Delete rules that cannot work in the game you are playing: “no jumping” makes no sense in a racing game.
- Spin before you start a level, a race or a session.
- Agree what “done” looks like: finish the level, win the race, survive 30 minutes.
- Once you can beat single rules, spin twice for a combo. “No HUD” plus “no healing items” is a real test.
What the rules mean
- Pacifist run: finish without defeating any enemy you can avoid. Not every game allows it, which is part of the puzzle.
- Starter gear only: keep the equipment you begin with. Pick up items and coins, but never equip upgrades.
- No HUD: turn off health bars, mini-maps and counters in the settings, if the game allows it.
- Swap controller each life: for two players at home. Whoever is watching takes over after every fail.
- Start from last place: in racing and sports games, give everyone else a head start and catch up.
Make it a group game
Siblings and friends can take turns: each player spins a rule, then plays one level under it while the others watch. Finish and score a point; fail three times and pass the controller. Keep turns to about 10 minutes so nobody waits long.
For battle royale matches, the battle royale challenge wheel has rules built around the drop, loot and the zone.
Questions and answers
Which games work best for challenge runs?
Games you already know well. Challenge rules are fun because they break your habits, so try them in a game you have finished at least once.
Are self-imposed challenges okay in online games?
Rules like “sound off” or “random character” only limit you, so they are fine. Keep it about your own play: a challenge should never spoil other players’ games.
How do I track who completed what?
The Results tab records each spin with its time. Note “done” or “failed” on paper next to it, or keep a tally on a whiteboard for a weekend tournament.
