Kids chore wheel
Twenty small jobs children can do with little or no help. A spin turns “do your chores” into a moment of suspense, which is half the battle.

Which chores suit which age
Every child is different, so treat these bands as a starting point and trim the wheel to what your child can finish without tears.
- Ages 3–5: put away toys, match socks, line up shoes, wipe the table with a damp cloth, help feed the pet with you measuring the food.
- Ages 6–8: make the bed, set and clear the table, water plants, fold towels, sort recycling, unpack non-breakable groceries.
- Ages 9–12: sweep or vacuum a room, put away their own laundry, empty the small bins into the main one, help make lunch with supervision near knives and heat.
Keep anything with cleaning sprays, sharp tools or the stove off a young child’s wheel. Those are jobs you do together, not jobs on a spinner.
A routine that sticks
- Make one wheel per child with chores for their age and save each in My wheels under their name.
- Pick a fixed moment, like right after school or after dinner. Let the child press Spin (or the Space bar) themselves.
- One spin, one job, done before screens. For older kids, spin twice.
- If they finish fast and well, they can choose to Spin again for a bonus job. Many kids will, just to watch it turn.
Questions and answers
My child can’t read yet. Will this still work?
Yes. Read the result out loud and show them what it means the first few times. Keep the labels short and the list small, six to eight chores, so they start to recognize the words.
How do I stop the same chore coming up every day?
Turn on Remove the winner after each spin in Options. A chore leaves the wheel once it has been done, and Reset brings the full list back when the wheel is empty.
Should chores earn a reward?
That is a family choice. Some parents keep everyday jobs as part of living in the house and use the reward wheel idea for extras, with rewards like choosing dinner or ten minutes of extra reading time.
