    Give every power a catch

A power without a limit makes a dull hero. After the spin, add one weakness or cost, or spin a second time and treat that result as the thing your hero cannot do.

    • Flight, but only as high as the tallest tree around you.
    • Mind reading, but you hear everyone at once and can’t turn it off.
    • Freeze time, for exactly ten seconds, once a day.
    • Talk to animals, but they are mostly interested in snacks.
    • Super speed, but you get extremely hungry afterwards.

    Games and activities

    • Hero design (ages 6+): spin, then draw your hero with a costume, a name and a sidekick. Use the character wheel to spin the sidekick.
    • Superpower debate: two players spin. Each has 30 seconds to argue why their power is more useful for an everyday problem, like being late for school. The group votes.
    • Story challenge: write a 300-word story where the hero solves a small, ordinary problem with their power and makes it worse.
    • Icebreaker: everyone spins and says one good thing they would do with the power. Quick, cheerful, works with any age.

    Make it yours

Add powers from the games, comics and stories your group loves, or invent silly ones (“Always find a parking spot”). Remove the winner after each spin if you are handing out powers to a group so nobody shares one.

    Questions and answers

    Which superpower is the best?

People argue about it endlessly, which is why it makes a good debate. Flight and teleportation usually win for everyday use, while freeze time wins for anyone with homework due tomorrow.

Can I use this in a classroom?

Yes. It works as a creative writing starter or a would you rather style discussion. Project it in full screen and give each student a different power with remove-after-spin on.
